Jurassic Park is a great film. It is unique and original by adding an essence of the past return in a horrifying way.
In a remote island where scientists have discovered how to recreate and breed dinosaurs, a billionaire has constructed a theme park displaying these real live creations. But before he can open the park, he must have permission from a few scientists and a lawyer. When he shows his guests around the park, the power is shutdown and all hell goes loose. T-Rexes and Velicoraptors go amuck throughout the entire park. People are eaten and there is no way of escape!
With incredible special effects and gorgeous music, the presentation of Jurassic Park is of any big blockbluster. It is a perfect example of the amazing work of Steven Spielberg. Also, all the characters have have a background story that makes each one stand out.
I really enjoyed Jurassic Park on its first release when I was 9. I was any typical kid and enjoyed the action and gore. When I watch it now, I enjoy it just as much. Even as an adult spoiled by superior quality special effects, the movie is still just as entertaining to me as it was when I first saw it in the theaters. Why? Well, I like the characters, the story, and the special effects still make the dinosaurs believable. I also really like the methods Spielberg uses to add suspense and the outcome of some of the victims remind me of classical horror films, like the scene when Samuel L. Jackson's cut-off arm from a velicoraptor drops down on Laura Dern's character. Or even the kitchen scene with two kids trapped by two hungry velicoraptors hunting them down.
All-in-all, Jurassic Park stands out and is a blockbluster still enjoyable for me to watch again and again.

Children of Men
I was attracted to Children of Men when I read an article about the movie giving its premise and synopsis. Children of Men is a sci-fi thriller based in the future about the de-fertilization of all human beings in the world. It starred Clive Owen as a former activist, named Theo who gets kidnapped by a terrorist organization run by an old friend portrayed by Julianne Moore who happens to be his old fiance'. The terrorist organization actually hires Theo to help them escort the only known pregnant woman in over 18 years to a science organization called The Human Project.
The movie had a slow start explaining how the world was like in 2027 and setting up the plot, but after the first 20 minutes the action started picking up and the rest of the movie was entertaining till the end. Children of Men had some neat action sequences and was very suspenseful. The movie also had symbolism representing world issues that are happening in today's society. The acting was very good. Clive Owen did a great job playing the role of Theo. All the techinical aspects in the movie were great. There were not many special effects and the movie seemed realistic for its setting and plot. The action was never obscured or exaggerated. The ending was great, definitely not the normal expected ending. I recommend watching Children of Men in the theaters. It is definitely worth your money if you are into suspense/thriller and sci-fi flicks.

My first opinions on The Bride of Frankenstein
The Bride of Frankenstein is a classic horror film based off of the novels written by Mary Shelly. It is a "parody" of the director's previous work. The Bride of Frankenstein has many representations symbolizing world issues especially for its time period of release(1930's). Feminism, lynching, racism, and many more were some of the issues The Bride of Frankenstein represented.
At first, when I watched The Bride of Frankenstein, I thought it was pretty funny. I thought maybe it was scary for people for its time period, but then looking back at it more seriously, The Bride of Frankenstein is a perfect example of using symbolism to represent issues. When I mentioned The Bride of Frankenstein as a "parody" of the director's previous work, I meant that it seemed like it was a parody, but I was not really sure if it was the director's purpose for the film.
I did not think the movie was frightening at all. Maybe it was for people who watched it back then. When I look back at old horror films they do not scare me. Because of this thought I have a theory the horror films we thought were scary in our time will only be funny to our children and future generations. Although I do not really know the purpose behind the creator's work of The Bride of Frankenstein, the movie's representation has depth and representation plays an important role in film.
