Children of Men

I was attracted to Children of Men when I read an article about the movie giving its premise and synopsis. Children of Men is a sci-fi thriller based in the future about the de-fertilization of all human beings in the world. It starred Clive Owen as a former activist, named Theo who gets kidnapped by a terrorist organization run by an old friend portrayed by Julianne Moore who happens to be his old fiance'. The terrorist organization actually hires Theo to help them escort the only known pregnant woman in over 18 years to a science organization called The Human Project.

The movie had a slow start explaining how the world was like in 2027 and setting up the plot, but after the first 20 minutes the action started picking up and the rest of the movie was entertaining till the end. Children of Men had some neat action sequences and was very suspenseful. The movie also had symbolism representing world issues that are happening in today's society. The acting was very good. Clive Owen did a great job playing the role of Theo. All the techinical aspects in the movie were great. There were not many special effects and the movie seemed realistic for its setting and plot. The action was never obscured or exaggerated. The ending was great, definitely not the normal expected ending. I recommend watching Children of Men in the theaters. It is definitely worth your money if you are into suspense/thriller and sci-fi flicks.
